Statement of Purpose

“To foster the study of business in universities; to encourage scholarship, social activity and the association of students for their mutual advancement.”

Delta Sigma Pi was founded on November 7, 1907 at NYU's School of Commerce, Accounts and Finance by Harold Valentine Jacobs, Alexander Frank Makay, Alfred Moysello and Henry Albert Tienken.

The Upsilon Omega Chapter — the 294th chapter — was chartered at Stony Brook on December 3, 2016 by fifty-one founding members. Since then, 300+ students and faculty have been initiated.

7 November 1907

Founded at New York University

Four students at the School of Commerce found Delta Sigma Pi as a professional business fraternity.

1975

First co-ed professional business fraternity

Delta Sigma Pi opens membership to all students of business — the first in the nation to do so.

3 December 2016

Upsilon Omega is chartered

Fifty-one founding members install the 294th chapter of Delta Sigma Pi at Stony Brook.

2017 – 2025

300+ initiated · 250+ alumni

The chapter grows past forty actives per term, with alumni across investment banking, marketing, consulting, technology and wealth management.

2021 – 2023

Chapter of Excellence

Three straight years of the national fraternity's top honor, plus a 5-Star Organization award from Stony Brook.
